I'm Melissa S., the breeder behind Von Steinhausen Rottweilers located in The Poconos, PA. Our Rottweilers are treasured members of our family. They have the best temperaments, amazing structure, and are wonderful companions! We do our best to raise puppies of only the highest quality that are excellent representatives of the Breed Standards, including both type and temperament.
Q. & A. with Melissa
Why did you start breeding?
My husband grew up with Rottweilers and when we got married we adopted our first Rottweiler. I fell in love with the breed, met with several breeders who have helped me along the years and attended many shows in order to learn and improve my breeding program. I’m extremely proud of our dogs and the puppies we have produced, they are all amazing companions.
What makes your program special?
We treat our puppy buyers like family, we keep everyone updated once the pups are born almost on a daily basis, we care for our puppies in a way that many people don’t, they’re loved from the moment they’re born until they leave our home, it is also part of our contract that the families stay in touch with us through the dog’s life. Communication doesn’t stop when the puppy leaves our home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
