Meet the breeder

I'm Julia L., the breeder behind Waggin Tails located in North Carolina. Health tests are performed on all parents. Most of the moms live in guardian homes with local friends and families so they receive the best lives. My studs live with me.

Q. & A. with Julia

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have 3 teenagers and a husband at home, so the puppies are constantly handled and socialized. All puppies will have a vet exam and all age-appropriate vaccinations before going to their new homes. Always welcome to FaceTime or talk. I refuse to dock tails. AKC Cavaliers will come with option to register your puppy. Cavapoos are not recognized by AKC.
  • What makes your program special?

I offer a health guarantee that extends to the close of thirty (30) days to infectious diseases and one (1) year for congenital and hereditary diseases. I stand behind my babies and want the best homes possible for them. If you are gone all day working, plan to crate the dog for long periods, have children who are rough and don't know how to treat animals, please don't buy one of my dogs.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include white, red, and blenheim. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Waggin Tails reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
