Meet the breeder

I'm Joyce P., the breeder behind Wild Wishes Cavaliers located in Lawton, OK. Although we live in OK, many of our Cavaliers are enrolled at heart study at VATech Vet College. We drive twice a year for 4D doppler echos. Our Cavaliers live in our house and sleep with us are all part of our family. We adore our dogs. My husband is a disabled veteran and home all day with our pups. I am a teacher and while I am at work he relishes in sending me photos of his lap full of our Cavaliers. We have been raising Cavaliers for the last 10 years and have numerous references you are welcome to reach out to. We love when people come and visit us, so you are always welcome to pick up your baby or we would be happy to deliver. We will not ship our puppies they are not cargo, they are precious souls. If you are unable to come to us, we are happy to video chat and look forward to adding you to our Cavalier family.

Q. & A. with Joyce

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was going through a very difficult divorce and a friend gifted me with my first Cavalier, Ellie and she helped me more than words can explain. 40 years ago I raised and showed Shelties & I decided Cavaliers were a breed that would bring back into raising puppies. In addition, I truly believe the world is a better place with Cavaliers in it.
  • What makes your program special?

Our Cavaliers are truly part of our family; they have free run of our house. They are all housebroke and use our doggy door with access to our large fenced backyard. All of our puppies are raised with us and potty trained.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and white, tri-color, black and tan, and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I spent months looking for the perfect dog to bring home. I knew we had found the right one when I came up on Joyce's profile. Not only was Joyce extremely knowledgeable about the breed but she was also responded quickly. She answered any question or concerns I had with the years of experience she has had working with cavaliers. She promptly sent all the genetic testing on the parents that I asked for and even went above and beyond sending screenshots when one of the profiles wouldn't give me access. In order for me to make my final decision, she video called me and stayed on as long as I wanted so I could watch the puppy and really get to know her personality. She sent me plenty of videos, pictures, and updates. She kept me informed about her puppy well visits and what the vet said at each one. Our puppy was a surprise for our children and Joyce played along so well making sure it turned out to be a huge Christmas surprise. She even brought her in little Christmas pajamas. Because we were traveling across the country at the time she made sure that our puppy had everything she needed for the long journey. She has stayed in contact and offered advice every time I have asked for it. We are just so happy we added one of Joyce's puppies and Joyce as a part of our family!

Joyce was great and easy to work with. Being further distance from me, she had great communication with me sharing photos of the puppy and answering our many questions. “Charlie” has been a wonderful addition to our family!
