Meet the breeder

I'm Kimberly L., the breeder behind Yampa Valley Aussies located in Colorado. Our dogs are raised in a loving home environment with our young children. All of our dogs are tested for genetic diseases including NAD. We follow the Puppy Culture Program and we will proudly stand behind the health of our pups. We love attending dog shows and hope to see you and your pups there!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My goal is to not only produce beautiful puppies, but to help promote responsible breeding in order to ensure that the Toy and Miniature Australian Shepherd will continue to move forward for generations to come with its best qualities. I fell in love with this breed and want to give others the opportunity of falling in love with it as well.
  • What makes your program special?

    I am focused on making my program the best it can be and doing things "the right" way by being responsible and ethical. All of my dogs are genetically tested. I am committed to only breeding dogs that meet the strict guidelines for quality that we have deemed appropriate for improving and continuing this wonderful breed.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are tiny size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Kimberly

Kimberly has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Yampa Valley Aussie puppies will be current on vaccines and deworming, have dewclaws removed and tails docked, lifetime enrollment microchip administered, puppy pack including leash, collar, blanket or toy with mom’s scent, folder with ASDR and/or AKC registration, copy of health guarantee, and complimentary 30 day pet insurance policy information. A deposit is required to hold your puppy and final payment is due prior to pick up. If you’d like to choose a different puppy, your deposit may be moved once.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kimberly may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Neuroaxonal Dystrophy NAD, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
