Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Adams Ranch ACDs located in Pinon Hills, CA. Several of our dogs have competed in conformation shows, agility events, dock diving, herding testing and temperament testing over the years. Additionally we recently started performance trials which include Rally, Barn Hunt, Scent Work, and NASDA events - searching shed antlers as well as for rats in an urban location and trailing & locating them in a natural setting.

Q. & A. with Brenda

  • Why did you start breeding?

When we purchased our first and second cattle dogs, we never intended to breed them. However, after learning more about the breed, I thought I might one day want to raise a litter of my own. That meant buying another dog that was more than “pet quality”. The rest is history after that!
  • What makes your program special?

I normally breed when I am looking to keep a puppy to expand my lines. We look to improve on the overall conformation of our dogs as well as maintaining an even temperament. I health test all my breeding to eliminate genetic defects in the puppies. Over time, we have bred multiple AKC Champions. We are dedicated to breeding top quality dogs!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red speckled, red mottled, blue mottled, blue speckled, and blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
