Meet the breeder

I'm Kelly W., the breeder behind Ali-Mae Cavalier King Charles Spaniels located in Louisville, KY. We breed for excellence according to the AKC standard. Occasionally, we have puppies and adults available whose destiny is not the show ring, but as a beautiful pampered pet in your home. Our high standards include health and genetic testing, as well as great temperaments and gorgeous conformation.

Q. & A. with Kelly

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 1997, I started showing and breeding Pomeranians, and became a member of the national parent club. Unfortunately, I was unhappy with the direction the breed was going, and decided to switch to Japanese Chin. I became a member of the Chin national parent club, and finished my last Chin's AKC championship while I was 6 months pregnant! I soon realized that I needed to find a breed that was more family-friendly, and my extensive search resulted in the purchase of my first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in 2016.
  • What makes your program special?

Perfection is always my goal with an intense study of pedigrees before any breeding takes place. The focus of my breeding program is not only to improve the health of the breed, but to also produce the next great show dog making its stamp in the show ring as well as the whelping box. I breed first to have something that will win in the show ring, unlike backyard breeders.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Kelly was so easy and she put me at ease aa first time buyer from a breeder and buying online from out of state! She was very communicative and answered all my questions and then some. Highly recommend working with her to find your perfect Cav! Also, she is working towards betterment of the breed! Mine has the special gene that's better for MVD, and would recommend purchasing one for a healthy pup!

Kelly was absolutely amazing to work with. She is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and clearly puts a lot of love into her dogs. From the start, she answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. I was especially impressed that she provided a folder full of helpful information about my puppy, including care tips and important details. It really showed how much she cares about making sure her puppies go to good homes and are well cared for. I had such a positive experience and would highly recommend Kelly to anyone looking for a breeder who is professional, thoughtful, and truly dedicated to her dogs. I am so in love with my little Murphie (previously Ivy!)

We had an excellent experience working with Kelly as our breeder. From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has the perfect temperament for our family—gentle, affectionate, and exactly what we were hoping for. The delivery process was seamless, and Kelly provided us with thorough information about our puppy, including her health, background, and lineage. It was clear that she is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the well-being of her dogs. Our puppy arrived healthy and has met (and exceeded) all of our expectations. Kelly also made the paperwork process straightforward and stress-free, which we greatly appreciated. We would absolutely recommend Kelly to anyone looking for a responsible, informed, and trustworthy breeder.

Kelly was wonderful to work with! We were interested in our little Lily and she felt her temperament would be a great fit for our family and needs. She was right! Lily is a gem and the perfect addition. She adores our young children and anyone she meets. She is the best snuggler and buddy for our elderly Cavalier too. Our vet was extremely impressed with the puppy book she came with that included thorough genetic testing and lineage. She was up to date on her vaccines and so well loved. We couldn’t be happier with our sweet girl!

Kelly & her husband were beyond a dream to work with! Very attentive and great at communicating throughout the whole process! It's very obvious that they both care about what they do, and their doggies. As a first time Caviler owner, I appreciate all the information they provide with the adoption as well! You will not be disappointed, I am so in love with my little Brisby, she is my dream dog. Thanks again Kelly!

Kelly and her puppies were a blessing during a difficult period in my life. It is evident that she is deeply committed to the health and well-being of her parent dogs and the puppies she raises. The care and intentionality she demonstrates give me great confidence in the foundation she provides for each dog. My dog, Poppy, is exceptionally affectionate and confident in new situations and with new people. Her steady temperament and gentle nature reflect the thoughtful socialization and attention she received early in life. She is a wonderful companion and a constant source of joy. I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone seeking a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
