Meet the breeder

I'm Adrie S., the breeder behind Alpine Cavaliers located in Limestone, MT. Our focus is on the health and wellbeing of our dogs and puppies. We perform the necessary health tests on our parents to insure that they produce quality offspring. We desire our puppy families to be blessed with a healthy and long-living companion.

Q. & A. with Adrie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We had our very first adored Cavalier as a pet. He was wonderful and brought so much joy to our family that we didn’t know a dog can. After we lost him in an accident, we knew he was not going to be our last of the breed and we wanted to provide other families with a dog that will bring them the same joy that he did for us.
  • What makes your program special?

We love and care for our dogs like they are one of us. They live with us on our small farm in East TN and are no strangers to the adventures of the outdoors. Our dogs and puppies are fed a quality diet to ensure their good health. They also enjoy their homemade pumpkin and peanut butter treats. OFA testing on our parents is a big part of our program. We perform, as much as we can, the necessary health tests with each of our dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Alpine Cavaliers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
