Meet the breeder

I'm Cristal M., the breeder behind Back Country Cattle dogs located in Concrete, WA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, structure and versatility. We carefully choose our dogs in our breeding program from responsible breeders. We have non registered and akc registered. All have had genetic disease testing. ( some have hips and elbows but still working on the res). Puppies are raised in our home with avidog and we are starting puppy culture.

Great level

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Cristal was always responsive to my questions and concerns both before and after we picked up our puppy. She is obviously committed and very experienced of this breed. This gives us the confidence we need as first-time dog owners and first-time Heeler parents. Our puppy, Daisy is doing great and growing fast

Cristal was AMAZING 😊 Iwas thrilled I got to go out and meet my PuP at 5 weeks old. It was very special how Cristal met me at the door with my "Girl", and how it was just me, her, and the puppy🥰 NO distractions. Cristal was also very accommodating when I had to put off picking my PuP up for a week, due to a fractured rib😣 When I went to pick up my puppy, she again met me at the door, and handed her right to me🥰 She totally remembered me, tail wagging, and lots of 💋 kisses.....Truly satisfied with my experience, wouldn't change a thing!!! Thanks Cristal 🙂

Back Country Cattle dogs kept me updated weekly while we were waiting for our puppy. She made the process simple and easy. Picking up the puppy was easy and no stress. She made simple recommendations for taking the puppy home and adjusting to his new environment. There were no unnecessary requirements or contracts. We love our puppy.

Very great family heritage, zero leash training follows very well, herding was natural instinct, hands down one of the best and I mean best dog out of my 4 other heelers I have had in the past!
