I'm MELISSA B., the breeder behind Barney Boxers located in Port Sanilac, MI. We love this breed and the experience of having litters! Our mission is to raise pups that are set to become the best companions. Our hope is to prepare each of our puppies with thoughtful socialization so they have the best foundation to seamlessly transition into their new homes.

Why did you start breeding?
I absolutely love the boxer breed. After getting our first, I began exploring the idea of breeding but didn't want to seek out a stud service; I wanted to sire to be part of our family so I would know his health & demeanor. After research, we added Oliver to our family. He is a daddy's boy. Expanding our program, we've added Penelope to as a family member & eventually will breed in the future.What makes your program special?
Our boxers are important members of our family. They are loved and cared for deeply. They live indoors and do not stay in a kennel. They sleep with us, lay around the house on the furniture, and enjoy living the life of a dog. When Emmy goes into labor, she wants me to lay with her IN her whelping area, so I do. Once pups are born, they are in their whelping area at the head of my bed in my room.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and $1,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

We received a puppy from Melissa in September 2024. She was a pleasure to deal with from the first interaction to the in-person meeting. The male puppy we received from Melissa has been great. We love him so much and he is such a staple in our home already in just 4-short months. He is the sweetest boy, full of love and energy. He is a cuddle monster. Duke has been exceptional to train and is one of the smartest dogs we have ever had and loves to run and play. He has the most fun flying around the yard - we are going to look into agility courses for him lol EVERYONE we meet HAS to say hi to him which has made leash and lead training a challenge but he's so good to train. He is definitely a big boy and going to be a big boy. At 4 months, Duke was 35 pounds. We are so thankful for Duke. Thank you Melissa - our experience w this dog has been the best so far and we highly recommend you. We already talk about the grief we're going to feel when Duke is no longer w us, so we make sure we enjoy every single day we can w him.. He is the best!!

Melissa was awesome to work with from the get go. She sent daily updates on my chosen puppy (Theo) and informed me of anything new after taking them to the vet.
