I'm Micki B., the breeder behind Brooklyn Labradors located in New York. Our dogs are bred to be healthy and have excellent temperaments. We raise our dogs in our Brooklyn apartment and prepare them to be show champions.
Q. & A. with Micki
Why did you start breeding?
The girl I purchased from Lorraine proved to be a lovely example of the breed. I began attending dog shows, speaking with experienced breeders and began to think about ways of improving on my foundation bitch. After consulting with Lorraine I chose a stud dog from her lines and had my first litter. The rest is history.
What makes your program special?
I love the whole process. Firstly, looking at my own bitch, find a stud dog that will complement and improve her shortcomings always keeping health and temperament at the top of my list. Then breeding, good nutrition during the pregnancy, whelping and providing enrichment for the beautiful little puppies until they are ready for their forever homes. I enjoy vetting potential puppy buyers.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
