I'm April C., the breeder behind Canterbury Tails BT located in Florida. We are a small breeder of AKC health tested Boston Terriers of both non-standard and standard colors. All of our dogs are part of our family and enjoy a spoiled life in our home. We encourage all new owners to come visit with our dogs and puppies in our home. We are AKC inspected and in compliance.

What makes your program special?
We pride ourselves in our BAER and CERT health testing of every puppy before leaving for their new home! All of our dogs are genetically tested and do not carry JHC (Juvenile Hereditary Cataracts). We also have every one of our dogs on NuVet supplements and urge our new families to continue using this wonderful supplement. We are AKC inspected and fully compliant!

Getting a puppy from April
April has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $400 refundable deposit and between $1,400 - $2,100 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Deposits for waiting list is $200 balance of $200 Deposits are not accepted until you have chosen your puppy. Prices for each puppy are clearly outlined on our website. https://www.canterburytailsbostonterriers.com/applications.html. The $400 puppy deposit includes the $200 deposit to be added to our wait list . We request the balance of the deposit ($200) once you choose your puppy. The remaining balance of $200 to hold your puppy must be received within 5 or less business days. Prices for each puppy are clearly outlined on our website.”

Canterbury Tails BT reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Boston Terriers.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Spine (OFA, FCI), Standard Veterinary Blood Panel, Brucellosis, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
