I'm Deborah L., the breeder behind Chippewa Valley Boxers located in Chippewa Falls, WI. We consider ourselves to be family breeders who raise puppies for the joy it brings and as a wonderful experience for our families. Our boxers are part of our family; they live in our homes. When raising puppies we focus on lots of early handling and socialization.
Q. & A. with Deborah
Why did you start breeding?
When we lived in England in 1981, we adopted a boxer named Dempsey from a couple who enjoyed showing their boxers. On weekends, they showed Dempsey and won many awards. When we returned from England, we decided to breed Dempsey and have kept is line intact ever since. Dempsey lived 16 wonderful years and his legacy lives on today in the beautiful line of boxer puppies and adult dogs he sired.
What makes your program special?
Family, friends, neighbors and students. Our family has charished every boxer we have owned. We have treated every litter with that same love and affection. I am a piano and dance teacher. The hundreds of students who have taken lessons in our home have spent thousands of hours socializing with the pups. We breed puppies for the joy it brings us and happiness it brings the other families.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
