Q. & A. with Christy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I brought home my very first boxer in the late 90's. I fell in love and from that day forward my love and admiration of the breed was born and continued to grow & grow over the years. There is nothing that brings us more joy than to raised these beautiful creatures and to share that love with other families. There truly is no other breed like the loving, goofy, dedicated and loyal breed the Boxer!
  • What makes your program special?

We import & breed only top quality boxers, we health test all of our boxers & offer a 5 year health guarantee on all of our pups. Our puppies are handle & loved on daily by ourselves & our 5 young children & are well socialized. We offer a lifetime of support to all those who are part of the Cimarron Boxer family. We would love to hear from you & help you find that perfect addition to your family.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
