Meet the breeder

I'm Ritchie H., the breeder behind Clinch Mountain Boxers located in Pounding Mill, VA. Our program is about the health of the breed and keeping it to the Boxer standard. The goal we set and which I believe is still the most important, is to produce healthy puppies that make a well-rounded character in an adult dog.

Q. & A. with Ritchie

  • Why did you start breeding?

After losing our first Boxer at a very early age we started researching more about Boxer health and what testing should be done for breeding. We decided that we wanted to breed for health that most people in the area did not.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed full European Boxers. All parents are fully health tested. We strive to keep them original to the European Boxer Standard.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
