Meet the breeder

I'm Valerie L., the breeder behind CopperHead Aussies located in Arlington, TX. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies that transition well into their forever homes. They are raised around dogs, cats, chickens, kids, and adults. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to make an impact on each individual puppy!

Q. & A. with Valerie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the breed through raising a rescue pup and got our second one two years later. Since then we have grown our pack to five total. We have done so much research and genetic testing to make sure we are breeding healthy, quality and wonderful dogs! We have also had some wonderful guides through the ASDR family to help provide experienced information!
  • What makes your program special?

We have a very small breeding program which allows us to raise them in our home around our kids and have them socialed for most households!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, red, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

I couldn’t say good enough things about my experience with copperhead Aussies. Bowie aka honor is such a good boy. He is so sweet, great with all dogs. He was a breeze to potty train. He never goes potty inside. And he doesn’t chew on anything but his toys and fingers 😂 and noses 😂 Couldn’t say good enough things about them.

I had a wonderful experience working with Valerie while purchasing my dog. From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and responsive, making the entire process feel smooth and stress free. What stood out most was how much she genuinely cares about the dogs and ensuring they go to good homes. It was clear that she prioritizes their well being, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Her communication was consistent and transparent, and she made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. I’m so grateful for her help in bringing Bulma into my life. I would absolutely recommend working with Valerie to anyone looking for a positive and trustworthy experience!

We cannot recommend Valerie enough! From start to finish, the entire process of getting our puppy, Blitzen, was seamless and incredibly supportive. When I first reached out, I had my eye on a specific puppy, but after chatting about what we were looking for, Valerie actually recommended a different litter that she felt better suited our needs. I’m so glad we listened to her expertise—our pup is exactly as she described him, and his temperament is a perfect match for our home. No surprises here! Valerie was also: Super Flexible: She worked with us on a pickup schedule that made everything so much easier. Incredibly Helpful: She’s been hands-on with any information we’ve needed, from training tips and sleep schedules to food recommendations. A Great Breeder: It’s clear she puts in the work early on; our puppy was almost immediately potty trained once we got him home! If you’re looking for a breeder who truly cares about placing the right dog with the right family, Valerie is the one. We are so happy with our new addition!
