Meet the breeder

I'm Valerie L., the breeder behind CopperHead Aussies located in Arlington, TX. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies that transition well into their forever homes. They are raised around dogs, cats, chickens, kids, and adults. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to make an impact on each individual puppy!

Q. & A. with Valerie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the breed through raising a rescue pup and got our second one two years later. Since then we have grown our pack to five total. We have done so much research and genetic testing to make sure we are breeding healthy, quality and wonderful dogs! We have also had some wonderful guides through the ASDR family to help provide experienced information!
  • What makes your program special?

We have a very small breeding program which allows us to raise them in our home around our kids and have them socialed for most households!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, red, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Valerie lives up to her expert reputation. She responds within 24 hours- often much quicker than that- to messages. She only uses natural foods and often cooks homemade meals for them as they wean. She gives you an amazing welcome kit, complete with binder to keep health records straight and lineage records complete. Valerie is very personable and you can tell that loving these pups comes from the overflow of who she is. Highly recommend working with her! You are blessed if you end up with a CopperHead Aussie!

Valerie was extremely gracious and kind during our interactions, she was also very understanding when it came to delays in the pickup process. I couldn't be happier with the customer service I received as well as my puppy.

All I can say is, WOW. Valerie is not only knowledgeable about the breed, but she delivers the whole package. The puppies are adorable and each came with their own bag. Detailed paperwork, toys, snacks, food, poop bags, water bowls, pads and most importantly a toy with mommy's scent! Definitely recommended if you're looking for a pup!!!!!

I recently bought a mini Aussie from Valerie at CopperHead Aussies. It was the best experience I have had purchasing a pet, and I have bought many pets over the years. Valerie was very responsive and organized. My puppy was healthy and even prettier than her pictures. I found Valerie to be a very responsible breeder. She provided me with all the paperwork I would need, including my puppies health records and lineage. I will be recommending CopperHead to my friends and anyone looking for their perfect companion.
