Cristina S.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Cristina S., the breeder behind Cris's Kennel's located in Mc Pherson, KS. My dogs have gone on to be therapy, ESA, and service dogs, and some have become wonderful loyal family pets.

Q. & A. with Cristina

  • Why did you start breeding?

I never thought that I would breed dogs. I have always just owned and trained. Many years ago it was brought to my attention that there was a need for service dogs. I began researching and found that people wait 3-5 years on a list and have to raise $38,000 in most cases. I decided a few years ago to do my research and breed my own dogs and pick the pups that I want to train and donate.
  • What makes your program special?

My desire is to help people. Needing a service dog and being told that you have to wait 3-5 years and pay $38,000 is heartbreaking for most. I breed keep a pup or two here and there to train and donate to someone in dire need. The pups I do sell help provide me with finances to continue to grow my program and cover some of the cost of training and upkeep of the pup that will eventually be donated.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
