I'm Tina P., the breeder behind Del Sol Farm located in Smithfield, NC. Our dogs are bred of overall soundness, conformation, and healthiness.
Q. & A. with Tina
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding when I purchased my first pet who seemed healthy on the inside but had a lot of health problems. I ended up having to euthanize him at a very young age. I promised myself that I could do a better job at producing healthier puppies that can bring happiness and great memories to families. So my journey began studying and 15 plus years I have never stopped learning.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special because I put a lot of time and love into each puppy, getting to know their personalities. I also start basic training them prior to them leaving our home in basic commands (sit, stay, lay and leave it) potty and leash training as well. Each puppy is BAER, microchipped, vet exam and health certificate issued prior to leaving.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Good level
Del Sol Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Cattle Dogs.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy (PRA-crd), Standard Wirehaired Dachshund Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
