Holley M.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Holley M., the breeder behind Folklore Canine L.L.C located in Alabama. Dogs we have bred from carefully selected breedings that have gone on to be disaster search and rescue K9s, police K9s, feild trial winners, successful hunt test dogs, international detection K9s,and pets. Our dogs are placed all over the country and the world.

Q. & A. with Holley

  • Why did you start breeding?

After studying and testing under multiple USAR evaluators, and due to the quality of my dogs, it was suggested that I get into breeding and training USAR K9s and dogs for other detection feilds as there is a shortage of good dogs and trainers in these areas. So I retired as a handler, and now train and breed performance and working dogs full time
  • What makes your program special?

Health , temperament, and creating a versatile performance dog and family companion are our main goals. We a do yearly OFA eye exams, OFA hip and elbow exams, and OFA advanced cardiacs on our breeding females. Dogs in our kennel are all OFA CHIC qualified and titled with working and/or performance titles. We also do extensive health testing through Paw Print Genetics.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
