Meet the breeder

I'm Meredith M., the breeder behind Story Kennel located in Wasilla, AK. I am an avid dog sport person, who breeds dogs who can do well in the conformation ring and at sports. I have over 25 years experience with training and competing in sports, and match my puppies to the best homes for their future.

Q. & A. with Meredith

  • Why did you start breeding?

My involvement in sled racing-inspired me to want superior dogs that were competitive compared to the ones I could buy from other racers. No one ever sells their best dogs, so I decided to create my own. I am passionate about this breed and want to continue improving upon its best qualities in a responsible way.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for dogs that excel as sport, conformation, and pets. My goal with each breeding is to breed for myself, and place the other pups in the appropriate home for them to thrive.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Border Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Border Collie puppies are blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Meredith

Meredith has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Meredith partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“We take a lot of care in matching our puppies to the home that is the best fit for them. Priority is given to show/sport homes, but pet homes are also considered. ”

Price

Puppy prices include between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All of our puppies from each litter are the same price. The price is set based on parents' experience in sports, health testing, and costs of raising the litter. I require a deposit of half down when I match a puppy to you, and the rest when plans are made to send the puppy to you, before they leave my house.”

Contract & health guarantee

Meredith may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Meredith offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Meredith directly.

Transaction went great and I got to see progress as the puppy got older as time went on. The breeder was very responsive and pleasant to work with and I got to know a lot as time went along. Overall, a great experience!
