I'm Wendy K., the breeder behind Hanova Labradors located in Bastrop, TX. Our first priority is to breed sound dogs both mentally and physically and second to better the Labrador breed type. Over the years our dogs have become champions and received obedience and hunting titles. Several of the dogs have become successfully certified therapy dogs.
Q. & A. with Wendy
Why did you start breeding?
My parents started in the breed of Labradors in 1995. Shortly after that time, I joined them. We have enjoyed competing in conformation, obedience, and hunt tests with our dogs. We breed first for ourselves, in hopes of success with a puppy. Our number one goal in breeding is sound dogs mentally and physically, then breed type.
What makes your program special?
We have very few litters per year, which allows us the time to focus on their health and development. We raise our puppies in our home with constant interaction, exceptionally clean environment, and healthy socializing with the other dogs when the time is right. We only do breedings of dogs that have had all the health clearances, as we want our puppies to enjoy a long healthy life.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
