Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Heirloom Ranch located in Cottage Grove, OR. At Heirloom Ranch, we strive to produce dogs that are versatile enough to be excellent family companions, compete in dog sports, or work a long day on the farm. All of our dogs are AKC registered. All of our dogs are genetic health tested. All of our breeding dogs are BAER tested and have full hearing. All of our breeding dogs have CAER eye exam certifications. Some of our dogs have OFA Hip and Elbow certificates. We are very picky on the temperament and trainability of our breeding dogs, we will only breed dogs with flawless temperaments and willing attitudes. We aim for stocky, thick-boned, full-sized Cattle Dogs. Our adult dogs are, first and foremost, part of our family and they also work part-time on our farm. Our puppies are very well socialized and raised with children.

Q. & A. with Tayler

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the breed after having a couple of cattle dog mixes. We graduated to having and loving purebred cattle dogs, and enjoyed training and working with them. We have been actively breeding cattle dogs since 2013. We aim to improve the breed by breeding registered, health tested, stocky cattle dogs with great temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are bred and raised to be outgoing, friendly companions. We breed for quality over quantity. We only have a couple breeding age females at a time so we only have a few litters per year. This way we are able to give every litter the proper care and attention. We health test all of our dogs. Our dogs make great family dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red speckled, red mottled, blue speckled, blue mottled, and blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Tayler and Heirloom Ranch were very easy to work with. Every question I had along the way was answered in a timely manner. I was impressed with the quality of her breeding dogs as they are a great example of the ACD breed standard. If I ever wanted another heeler Heirloom Ranch would be my top choice. Thank you Tayler for my amazing puppy!

Tayler was dedicated and took care in breeding such a beautiful and healthy puppy. We truly appreciate how well she worked with us on the travel arrangements, making the process so much easier. It’s impressive that our puppy could walk easily on a leash, be familiar with the crate and know how to use the bathroom outside as soon as we brought him home. Tayler also responded promptly to our emails along with pictures of our pup. We couldn’t be happier with our new furry family member.

We feel so fortunate that we were able to work with Tayler to bring our boy, Dexter, home. It is apparent that she takes incredible care to bring up healthy, well adjusted dogs and match them with good homes. We have had Dexter here with us now for a week. He took to his crate almost immediately because of the work Tayler did to help prepare him. He has adjusted really well to us, is learning cues at lightning speed and is largely unfussed when being handled due to how she brings her pups up. She was extremely easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. We live close enough that we were able to come out and meet our pup, his parents and a few of his siblings a few weeks before his take home day. All of her dogs are very well behaved, affectionate and healthy. If you're looking for your next companion, I can't recommend Tayler enough.

Tayler was so quick to respond when we had questions. Within minutes she had answers or advice for us. She is knowledgeable about the breed and raising puppies. Once we chose our boy and named him, they used his name and posted it with his pictures on Good dog. She kept us updated with posts and pictures. She was friendly and professional when we met up with her at the Ranch to pick him up. We met mom and dad who were very sweet dogs. She had all of his information and puppy care organized in a folder for us with a keepsake Heirloom Ranch bag filled with goodies for him. It was truly a pleasure working with Tayler to bring home our sweet boy. Thielsen is the perfect addition to our family. We can't wait to take him on our hiking and camping trips with us. Thank you for everything Tayler.
