I'm Maureen A., the breeder behind Hillsdale Shiba Inu located in Nampa, ID. We have adored the Shiba Inu since 1995! Preservation of the Japanese qualities and puppies with sound minds are our focus. Our dogs are bred for temperament and sound structure. We have added new import bloodlines over the years to preserve the Shiba with the qualities the Japanese qualities in priority.

Why did you start breeding?
We met our first Shiba Inu in 1995 and her name was Mitsu. She lived to be 16 1/2 years. We added 2 puppies two years later and showed the Shibas. It was a fun hobby so we had a litter and loved them so much that the hobby has continued for 30 years.
What makes your program special?
We are focused on sound temperament and structure.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, black and tan, and sesame. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Maureen
Maureen has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
