Meet the breeder

I'm Lauren G., the breeder behind Hillview Kennels located in Warsaw, NY. Our dogs are bred with health and temperament in mind when breeding. I focus on producing healthy babies for the perfect families. Our dogs receive top quality care and are treated as family first and foremost.

Q. & A. with Lauren

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother was a breeder of Labradors when I was growing up. I always said I wanted a breed that could keep up with my crazy lifestyle. I met my first Boxer when I was 8 and fell in love with the breed. I was determined that I would have one of my own someday. I bought my first one in my senior year of high school. She was with me every day until her last breathe.
  • What makes your program special?

My whole life is dedicated to what I do. I health test all my dogs and make sure my puppies go to the best homes. If I feel a home isn't right for a certain puppy or dog, I will let them know that. All I want is the best families for them. I offer breeder support to all of my puppy families and pride myself in always being here for them.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Boxer puppies include fawn, brindle, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Hillview Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Boxers.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Lauren was wonderful to work with. She was quick to respond to all of my questions and has been a great resource since we brought our puppy home!

Lauren at Hillview Kennels was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She answered every question promptly and never once made me feel like I was being a bother, even though I’m sure my excitement and endless questions about our new puppy were a lot! Lauren is always there to help and support you throughout the entire process. Her dogs are clearly very well cared for. She shared many photos and videos of the mama and puppies, and all parent health records are publicly available, which really shows her commitment to producing healthy pups. Lauren truly knows how to breed quality dogs, every puppy is adorable, and it’s obvious that her pairings are thoughtfully and carefully planned. We had to drive quite a ways to meet a transporter halfway to bring our puppy home, and it was worth every penny. I’ve had Boxers before, and looking back, I don’t feel my last one came from a truly reputable breeder. The difference with Lauren is night and day. She genuinely cares for these babies. The puppy areas were always spotless, and her reviews truly speak for themselves. Lauren has checked in with us a few times since we brought our pup home a few weeks ago to make sure everything is going well and reminded us to reach out anytime. There is also a Facebook group for Hillview puppy families, which is wonderful, it’s so special to see all the puppies growing up and being shared there. Lauren clearly loves seeing her babies thrive after they leave Hillview. I’ve had several Boxers in my life, and the level of detail, education, and information Lauren provided is something I’ve never experienced before. I even learned so much from her along the way. Thank you so much, Lauren, we absolutely love King (Seth)! 🐾❤️

We had a wonderful experience getting our puppy from Lauren. She was extremely communicative, helpful, and informative throughout the entire process, which made us feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. Our puppy is playful, smart, and such a joy. We can tell he came from a great environment! We truly appreciated how great our experience was and when we’re ready for another addition to the family, we’d absolutely go through her again!
