Meet the breeder

I'm Lauren G., the breeder behind Hillview Kennels located in Warsaw, NY. Our dogs are bred with health and temperament in mind when breeding. I focus on producing healthy babies for the perfect families. Our dogs receive top quality care and are treated as family first and foremost.

Q. & A. with Lauren

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother was a breeder of Labradors when I was growing up. I always said I wanted a breed that could keep up with my crazy lifestyle. I met my first Boxer when I was 8 and fell in love with the breed. I was determined that I would have one of my own someday. I bought my first one in my senior year of high school. She was with me every day until her last breathe.
  • What makes your program special?

My whole life is dedicated to what I do. I health test all my dogs and make sure my puppies go to the best homes. If I feel a home isn't right for a certain puppy or dog, I will let them know that. All I want is the best families for them. I offer breeder support to all of my puppy families and pride myself in always being here for them.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Boxer puppies include fawn, brindle, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Hillview Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Boxers.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Lauren was great to work with while we asked questions about adding our new addition, Moe. You can tell she truly cares about who she places her puppies with, and has extensive knowledge of her breeds. We couldn’t be happier with how sweet, healthy, and happy Moe, now Gus is.

My family had the pleasure of working with Lauren, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we first connected, Lauren demonstrated a deep knowledge of the breed and a genuine passion for raising healthy, happy puppies. She was incredibly patient with all of my questions and made sure I was well-informed at every step of the process. Lauren's dedication to her dogs is evident in every aspect of her breeding program. The puppies are raised in a loving, home environment, which was very important to me. It's obvious that Lauren puts a lot of effort into ensuring her dogs cared for. Now that my puppy is home, Lauren has continued to be a wonderful resource, offering advice on training, nutrition, and general care. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience. If you're looking for a responsible, ethical breeder who truly cares about the well-being of her dogs and the families they go to, I highly recommend Lauren. Our new puppy is a joy, and I have Lauren to thank for that!
