I'm Amanda T., the breeder behind HP Aussie Kennels located in El Dorado Springs, MO. At HP Aussie Kennels, we believe in preserving the breed through quality genetics, conformation, disposition and temperament. We strive to better the breed by producing top quality puppies with impeccable genetics and temperaments that embody everything we want an Aussie to be!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was ten years old when my father let me breed my first Australian shepherd female. I took a love of showing horses and working cows, with some of the best working dogs in the breed, to expanding my horizons and focusing on genetics, temperament, structure, and mind to further preserve the amazing qualities of the Australian Shepherd, no matter if they are a working, show, or pet dog.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is special in that I am a single mother, raising a wonderful daughter, and we run this breeding program together. We show together, whelp pups together, train our dogs together, and I get to share my passion for the breed with her and with our owners. Our owners become part of our family for life when they get an HP Aussie!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amanda partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We try to match puppies based on the environment and lifestyle of the owners with the temperament and personality of each puppy. We do match puppies younger based on application criteria being met for the specific litter.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $700 non-refundable deposit and between $500 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes preregistration paperwork, age appropriate vaccinations, vet health check, contract, puppy goody bag, and detailed records of puppy and parent. The deposit holds your puppy until pick up. The deposit can be transferred to another litter if you are unable to get your puppy, however they are non-refundable.”

Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), Australian Shepherd Type, Full Embark Panel, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Cone Degeneration, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific), DNA Coat/Trait Panel, DNA Profile, Animal Genetics Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Amanda was incredible throughout the entire process. She made my husband and I feel at ease as she answered all of our questions, and she even went above and beyond to send us photos and video updates every day leading up to when we finally picked up our little Jasper. Amanda is very thorough with medical needs, food, AKC registration instructions, microchip/vaccination information and records, and everything in between. It is very plain to see that Amanda is loving, attentive, and she truly cares about the puppies and dogs she's raising. I would recommend her without a shadow of a doubt, and there is a high chance (in a few years) that I will be calling on her again for another little one.     Amanda has been the best to work with. We got Jake from her and you can tell he was well and truly cared for. He has the best temperament and personality. Amanda made the whole thing great.     I can’t thank Amanda enough for how great she was! She not only answered every question I had with proof, she also made sure to get to know us before ever even putting a deposit down. Imo, this makes for a good breeder because she acted like she cared where the puppies went rather than just “don’t care, take ‘em!” If you are looking for a good breeder to get your new best friend from, I can recommend her enough!     Amanda was amazing to work with! My new puppy Jixii is all that I had hoped for in a puppy! The time and energy she puts into each and every pup shows tenfold! She is the most balanced puppy I have personally ever had. I’ve had Aussies for over 35 years. The breeder I was using passed away. It was great to have so many breeders vetted in one place to help choose my next pup. Amanda was very communicative the entire time! I received regular daily updates, videos and beautiful pro style pics once a week. And these puppies….so sweet, super intelligent and confident….everything one would expect from an Aussie pup! I do a lot of competitive dog sports. In the short time I’ve had Jixii, I can already see she’s going to be a lot of fun and be a great teammate! My Aussie friends are asking “who’s the breeder” because Jixii is not only incredibly beautiful but showing great breeding!     I found our "Annie" from HP Aussie Kennels and picked her up two weeks ago. Annie has been amazing. HP Aussie Kennels has been an amazing find and Amanda is a fantastic breeder. She kept me in the loop daily from deposit to pick up. She met me on time without issue to deliver Annie. She was organized and prepared. She really knew her stuff.
