Q. & A. with Amanda
Why did you start breeding?
I was ten years old when my father let me breed my first Australian shepherd female. I took a love of showing horses and working cows, with some of the best working dogs in the breed, to expanding my horizons and focusing on genetics, temperament, structure, and mind to further preserve the amazing qualities of the Australian Shepherd, no matter if they are a working, show, or pet dog.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special in that I am a single mother, raising a wonderful daughter, and we run this breeding program together. We show together, whelp pups together, train our dogs together, and I get to share my passion for the breed with her and with our owners. Our owners become part of our family for life when they get an HP Aussie!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red & white, red tri-color, black & white, black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, blue merle, black tri, red tri, red merle, red, and black. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Amanda was so responsive and knowledgeable about the breed and helping me know more about the different registrations. You can tell she really cares about her dogs and puppies. She stayed in touch and sent me regular updates about my puppy. Good Dog made the process so easy. I’m glad I got to meet Amanda and become part of the HP Aussie family.

Hi Amanda,
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you’ve done. Your timeliness and care made the process of finding Boris such a smooth experience. After losing Balto, it was a tough and emotional journey — I always knew I would have a dog named Balto, but I never realized how much I needed a dog named Boris.
This journey with Boris has been so healing for me. I’m incredibly grateful for the love and dedication you pour into these puppies and the thoughtful care you take in matching them with the right families. You don’t just help people find a pet — you help them find their next best friend and a part of their healing. Thank you for making such a difference in our lives.
With gratitude,
Chelsae Figge
