I'm Jina E., the breeder behind Kalama Cavaliers located in Lead Hill, WA. I study (test) the pedigree, structure, and genetics of every Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pair prior to breeding, passionate about using holistic veterinary practices when caring for our dogs and raising puppies. Why did you start breeding?
I accepted a breeding pair from a family member. The female turned out to be pregnant and I was thrown in...hook, line, and sinker. I began researching and developing my breeding program and have never looked back. The health & genetic wellness of the dogs in my care is my utmost priority! I offer responsibly bred, socialized puppies with health clearances (OFA & Embark) I screen all potential families to ensure that I am pairing puppies with the perfect homes. My dogs are part of my family and incredibly cherished companions. The pups I have allowed to leave are part of my Furever Family.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and tan, tri-color, and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Jina has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jina partners with them to find the best puppy match.
Price
"The price includes years of health testing, a 2-year genetic health guarantee, ongoing communication throughout the adoption process, microchip, puppy socialization, crate and potty training. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size. Includes registration and microchip, Vet Checked, dewormed and first puppy shots. Deposit is refundable (up to $100) no questions."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Ruthie
Gentle, but still so playful, it’s obvious Ruthie will be a forever sweet puppy at heart! She has a relaxed and calm disposition like her Mama, Kandie, but is larger like her Daddy, Canyon. Ruthie has the single variant of the chocolate gene, we will see what possibilities she will give, surely as healthy as the lines she comes from. We are making strides in removing the inherited genetic mutations within the Cavalier Breed. Having been tested, I'm thrilled to announce Ruthie is clear of the Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS), Dry Eye Curly Coat (DECC) and Muscular Dystrophy. She has only one gene for the DM (Degenerative Myelopathy). She is very healthy and I have full confidence her off-spring will be exceptionally healthy, as long as families continue my trajectory!

This healthy and happy boy is my dream dog! Truly, I want every one of my puppies who are sired by Davie to definitely take on his fun and obedient disposition. Watch him play, swim or cuddle. He is amazing! ALL Normal DNA and OFA Tests. Last spring we went to the University of Missouri for his MRI scan for the dreaded SM/CM in his (future) puppies (we feel positive this is not a possibility). Kandie is such a huge snuggle bug, so relaxed and EASY to be with, she just wants to please. I like to rotate my dogs when I'm taking them with me, but my go-to is always Kandie, because she's so sweet and obedient! She is such a nurturing Mama, I have full confidence that with she and Daddy's personality and conformation, these puppies will be amazing additions to any family! Kandie was MRI scanned for SM/CM on 4/23/25 at University of Missouri Neurology. I would love for you to “meet” Kandie and the pack, just let me know when a good time to video chat would be.

About Libby
Libby is a perfect little lady in so many ways! She has such a wonderful desire to please, she has lots of training with obedience and agility. A minute of barking out of curiosity will give way to bring you a stuffed toy for you to play tug-of-war or fetch. She is a super with a ball playing catch-and-fetch, and will lay on my lap (between my knees) for hours. She is a perfectly content, easy-to-please little lady. Her offspring of five beautiful babies are gorgeous and well behaved, spread out between Texas and Washington.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
