I'm Justine L., the breeder behind Legacy ACDs located in Orange, CA. We believe that each litter is a result of continuing a legacy to better the breed with purpose, predictability, and preservation. Breeding is done on a very limited basis and we believe that each litter produced is a result of continuing a legacy to better the breed.
Q. & A. with Justine
Why did you start breeding?
Breeding became an interest of mine when I began showing in conformation. I love the idea of maintaining a breed and putting forth dogs that can not only hold to the standard in their original purpose but be able to better the breed and show that your breed can diversify into other jobs and lifestyles.
What makes your program special?
My program is special because we are not just here to put out more puppies into the world. We are looking at what will truly put out a better generation and not only hold true to the purpose of the breed but to compliment the preservation with better health and lifestyles of each dog bred.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Macy
Macy is a fantastic partner in whatever adventure I throw her in. She is all boss and business and has been ever since she came to us at 8 weeks. She is my rain or shine worker and will do anything to get the job done. Her desire to work and learn has allowed us to train for anything we have wanted to. Macy loves barn hunt, rally, agility, lure coursing, herding (her favorite) and conformation. The only thing that Macy loves more than working is being with me.
Macy is ALL cattle dog!
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Legacy ACDs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Cattle Dogs.

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
