Meet the breeder

I'm Lyla H., the breeder behind Lyla Hinman's Australian Cattle Dogs located in Cora, WY. We operate a small breeding program with an emphasis on health, socialization, and family atmosphere for all of our dogs. We have hand-picked all of our dogs from all over the United States for temperament, bloodlines, and physical characteristics that we wanted for our breeding program. The majority of our dogs came from working cattle ranches and have the instinct for drive, personality, and good temperament.

Q. & A. with Lyla

  • Why did you start breeding?

When my husband and I initially started looking for some new family members (we are empty nesters) we could not find the quality of dogs we wanted in our area which prompted us into providing good quality cattle dogs for the ranchers in our area.
  • What makes your program special?

We took the time to research the qualities and characteristics we appreciate about the breed. We specifically chose dogs from breeders all over the United States that we wanted for our program. We're proud of the puppies we're able to share.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue speckled and red speckled. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

The reason I went with Lyla came down to how much time she was willing to answer my questions and share her knowledge with getting a puppy with a breeder. She shared numerous photos of her past puppies and how they have grown up. She really made my experience a great one and you can tell she puts the time into her litters to give them a good start.
