I'm Laura A., the breeder behind Mythic Labradors, LLC located in Malabar, FL. We've been breeding English labradors since 2001. We produce quality Labradors that conform to the breed standard, are intelligent, have wonderful temperaments and all of our dogs have their health clearances inclusive of their hips, elbows, cardiac, eyes, PRA, EIC, RD/OSD, HNPK, Dilute Free.

Why did you start breeding?
My parents were breeders of Dalmatians when I was younger and I love Labradors and found great mentors back in 2001 and haven't looked back.What makes your program special?
When we have litters, we make sure our puppies are sold only to loving and committed homes. We do our best to screen the owners to ensure a good match between the puppy and the buyer. Before the puppy leaves our home, it has been well cared for and socialized. Parents have all health clearances. Mythic Labradors only has puppies available in Black, Chocolate and Yellow. We do not breed dilutes!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Gem
Gem is our 4th Generation girl here at Mythic. She comes from a long line of service dogs including some that have even made national and international news. Puppies will be very trainable, even tempered, and will have the looks as well. Her mother was an Import from Ukraine with one of the most beautiful temperament and has produced absolutely gorgeous babies. We are so excited for her pups.

Echo was our pick girl from our Mahomes x Nox.. She represents our 5th generation here at Mythic. She is very easygoing and always wants to please and be loved on. Both her and her Littermate Odin one of our studs at Mythic have the best temperaments and just calm loving typicaly velcro Labradors.

Dallas is a male Labrador Retriever over 13 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Laura decided to make him part of their program. Laura has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA), Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+4I cannot believe it is FOUR weeks tomorrow since we met and picked up our puppy from Laura and Gary Altizer at Mythic Labradors! I am extremely grateful for my experience with Good Dog and with Laura Altizer. I wouldn't have found Mythic Labs if it hadn't been for Good Dog! I was super pleased with my experience with Mythic Labs and Laura especially for many reasons. You can tell that they really care about their dogs and puppies in many ways: 1. They have very high testing standards for their sires and dams. 2. They have been doing this for 24 years and yet they continue to want to improve their efforts. 3. the majority of their customers are previous patrons. 4. The pups and mom are under their watchful eye almost 24/7 as they start off in their bedroom. 5. They are particular about the food the pups and mom get which includes organic berries, carrots and other wholesome nutritional support. 6. The Altizers have personal integrity with the way they handle their business; they are trustworthy with their word! 7. They are committed to the purity of the English Lab breed, emphasizing no dilutions. 8. Laura was quick to respond to my questions and offered some very helpful resources. 9.
