Olmstead Labradors

Bonita S.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Bonita S., the breeder behind Olmstead Labradors located in Savannah, NY. We love Labs and breed for the darkest shade of yellow (Fox Red), and black. Our goal is beautiful puppies from health tested parents, with great temperments, and a willingness to please. It is a pleasure to place our much loved puppies into the hands of great people for a lifetime companion.

Q. & A. with Bonita

  • Why did you start breeding?

We bought our first Fox Red lab, Macy, in 2016. She was a dream come true and such a good dog. She had a beautiful litter and we kept a girl from that litter. The rest is history.
  • What makes your program special?

With a focus on bettering the Labrador Retriever breed, we are dedicated to raising not only beautiful, but also healthy puppies. We also spend a lot of time with our puppies socializing them with different environments and noises.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Bonita

Bonita has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Bonita partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“In order to protect the health of our puppies and to ensure we place each puppy with the correct family; all puppies are sold on a first deposit gets first pick of the litter, second deposit gets second pick, and so on, basis. At 8 weeks old, on 'going home day", visits are scheduled in the order the deposits were received. Each family gets to play with the puppies and connect with them at that time.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,250 - $2,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our puppies come with a health guarantee, vet checked, first vaccinations, and dewormed. They are socialized with adults and children and come with AKC limited registration application.”
