I'm Diana C., the breeder behind Risa’s Goldens located in Paola, KS. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.
Q. & A. with Diana
Why did you start breeding?
Accidentally, of course! In the early 80's we had our first litter of puppies and I was hooked! Since then, we have worked hard to produce top quality puppies that exceed expectations.
What makes your program special?
40 years of experience has taught me many things about birthing puppies, caring for puppies and their parents. We have chosen the path of breeding the highest quality dogs available and often import our breeding stock from Europe from top breeders there. Our breeding dogs are tested and have OFA clearances for hips, elbows, cardiac, and eyes.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
