I'm Michelle U., the breeder behind Rorschach Boxers located in Seward, NE. Our program is small and intended for ourselves first. We breed to create our next generation of Boxers to build on. We will occasionally have puppies available for pet and/or performance/working homes. My babies are extensively socialized before they go home. They are potty trained on grass pads, raised naturally, and live in our living room with our family. I use Puppy Culture and ENS as a guide for their social emotional development. My program is intentional with daily activities to build confidence and ensure that the best genetic potential is unlocked. Every baby goes home with a puppy pack, AKC prepaid registration and an AKC Reunite microchip that is prepaid lifetime registered.

I’ve been behind on picture updates this week. I’m really sorry. There’s been a lot going on over here. We had a bio security breech, and parvo virus was brought into our house. All dogs and puppies are Okay. Every single puppy was impacted by it to a degree (diarrhea, vomiting, not wanting to eat). I am still giving extra attention to some of them to get them past it. None of them at any point were critical. However, it’s not a small virus. It requires around the clock fluids to hydrate the babies until they can maintain them on their own. I will have to dispose of a lot of things, and bleach a whole lot of other things. Parvo virus is *very* contagious. It can come in on your shoes from the sidewalk. A *fly* can bring it into your house after landing on an infected dogs’ feces. This virus is literally everywhere that dogs are. Young puppies only have their mom’s immunity from her milk. As they grow up, they will have many natural exposures to the many strains of parvo in the environment over time. This will build up a natural immunity to many strains. Whatever vaccine you give them will give immunity to that strain too. My adult & older puppies were not impacted by this virus. The babies were vulnerable but still had some immunity from Megan, so they were not hit as hard as they could have been. At no point did they have the classic parvo bloody diarrhea (which means the intestinal lining is being hit very hard). I strongly believe that their healthy diet and gut biomes protected them from the virus gaining a foothold. Many breeders have advised me to keep this incident to myself. One puppy was fairly sick at first (he’s fine now). I told his mom what happened as it was happening and I am being advised that I should have kept it to myself, or lied to her. I feel that being open with what has happened is the best policy. Both to share how I helped the babies come through it to help other breeders or rescues, but also to be realistic that this is a reality of dog breeding that can happen. The medical expenses alone were right around $4300 (I got the parvo antibody medication for the litter). Again, everyone is doing good, but some are looking thin. In the long run, this means that they will have some strong natural immunity to the virus. This is something I could have kept to myself, but I feel that being open and transparent is really important. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns about this.

Hi all, reminder that puppy payment in full is due by 7 weeks 4/23. If we haven’t yet set up pick up arrangements, please get ahold of me for that. I will need emails for sending out contracts this week 🥰 Thank you

Hi everyone! Babies are 5 weeks old today. If the rain decides to clear, I’ll be getting their 5 week old body pics today. If not today then tomorrow. I’ve had such a disaster with food this time around with the babies! Two companies low/no stock and back orders without notice. I appreciate everyone being so understanding and patient about this. The company I’ve had come through for me is the one that was my supplemental brand, Trophy. I am fairly new to it and used it as supplemental because it’s smelly (it has fresh frozen tripe in it). However, it’s been excellent and the puppies & dogs have been doing very well on it. The owner has been great to work with and has assured me I will never be without food for my babies again. I am going to link to the website to order as this is what the puppies will be eating. Again, I really appreciate everyone being patient about the food glitches. These guys here all together eat about 20 pounds per day so I was pretty stressed trying to find a reliable source that would deliver. The food I feed the puppies is the frozen ‘high performance’ blend. It has the calories that puppies need. For a month supply you will need the large box. https://trophydogfoodcompany.com/product-details/product/69928cd5dc809fdb529bc03a/?variant=69928cd5dc809f35da9bc045

Getting ready for bed in their new apartment 😎 The babies are now 4 weeks old and have moved into their larger puppy pen. This is set up in my living room and is where they will camp out for the next 4-6 weeks! They are all eating solids (but still like to nurse too). So far, babies have eaten pork, beaver, turkey, and beef without issue. They will try chicken soon. If you haven’t set a pick up date with me yet, now is a good time! We don’t have to have an exact time, but a reserved day is good to have set now just because I am coordinating with 10 families. If you are wanting to keep your puppy here longer for socialization, I will need to know now so that I can make preparations for that. Your puppy won’t be alone if you choose to keep them here past 8 weeks. So far, 4 puppies are staying here for the extended socialization. The benefits of leaving a puppy with the breeder longer are more socialization with the littermates, mom, and avoiding the first fear period coinciding with go home day. Keeping a puppy in the breeder’s program can have benefits if they expose your puppy to positive new things during their first fear period. We will continue to work on foundations like potty training, crate training, positive group play, basic puppy manners, and expanding their world. Boarding fee for staying past 8 weeks is $100 per week. This covers food, grass, and my program expenses.

Babies have been meeting the bigger puppies more and are starting to explore their bigger environment. They started solids yesterday! I will be gradually weaning them onto solids while they still have free access to mom’s milk. I’m hopefully going to get the babies outside today when the weather warms up.

A few general notice/ announcements 🥰 If you are planning to fly in to pick up your baby, please start making arrangements now! Flights, and flight nannies, are much cheaper when booked ahead of time. Same with hotels! If you need ground transport for your baby, please start making arrangements now. Again, the earlier arrangements are made, generally the cheaper it is. I have a transport/flight nanny available but will need to book ahead of time due to their schedule (and possibly everyone else’s schedules who may also need them). If you are interested in me keeping your baby longer than 8 weeks, please let me know now. I do have a few that will be staying here longer for prolonged socialization (it’s good for them). Your baby won’t be alone if you choose to do this. I love the babies and don’t mind keeping them here, but I will need to make arrangements for food & grass pads! Boarding fees of $100/week will apply after 8 full weeks to cover their food and grass. Plus the training program that is ongoing for them as they grow older. Those that want to make *payments* towards their puppy are now open to do so! GoodDog keeps track of all payments and a running balance. Those who wish to pay their remaining balance may do this as well. Full balance is due by the end of week 7. I no longer do balance paid at pickup. This is in case of app, internet, or bank issues on the date of pickup. If you have any special requests for me, let me know now. I am using everyone’s name when I hold and pet them. They associate their names with comfort. I have had people request things like acclimating to a harness, extra time around wheelchairs, exposure to lots of car rides etc. Let me know now so that I can get those experiences in for them!

Babies are 3 weeks old tomorrow! They are learning how to drink from a bowl, and soon I will start adding some meat mince to the bowl. They have teeth! And are starting to play with each other. This is a noisy bunch! And they all love their cuddle time with their people.

The babies got their front claws trimmed, and their tail ends from the tail banding have all come off now. They all have their little stubbies now ❤️ Everyone is doing well, and Megan is doing fantastic. She is eating 5 pounds of food a day to feed these kids!

Michelle is such a delight ! She has brought us so much happiness and joy with our new pup! I could tell right away that our little Bowen was given top notch care and LOVE from day one. Michelle takes this very seriously and she really starts socializing the pups right away. Bowen is not afraid of different noises, people or normal surroundings. He has been a breeze to house train. He is 10 weeks old and sits, shakes, goes to his "spot" to sit, goes to the door when he has to potty, goes to bed at 10pm until 6am. He's an excellent traveler, walks on the leash and LOVES people and our old boxer. He's absolutely gorgeous and fits right into our family! I hope to get another pup from her in the next few years! Excellent experience and HIGHLY recommend!!!!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
