Debbi K.

Breeder of Shetland Sheepdogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Debbi K., the breeder behind Shadow Hill South Shetland Sheepdogs located in South Carolina. I believe that if you commit to producing dogs of sound structure and take care of their minds and bodies, your pups will grow up to be happy, healthy, and beautiful. I am proud to raise these wonderful dogs and always commit to maintaining the highest quality standards for my program.

Q. & A. with Debbi

  • Why did you start breeding?

I saw a beautiful male Sheltie at a show and decided to breed him with my champion girl. She had 6 healthy babies and I cried when each one left for their new home. Breeding dogs is very rewarding and very heartbreaking. It is the hardest thing I have ever accomplished but I am blessed by their love and happy to share their love with others.
  • What makes your program special?

Most of my dogs are champions or on their way to becoming a conformation champion. We have also bred several that have excelled in agility and obedience. All of the dogs are health tested to ensure I am breeding dogs that will live long healthy and happy lives. My dogs live with us and are held and exposed to new people and stimuli every day. Most of our breeding's are line bred in the same family of dogs so we are able to keep our standards high. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one with an enriching and loving family that will match their temperament and personality.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
