I'm Mary S., the breeder behind Shenanigans Family Papillons located in Show Low, AZ. My main concern in breeding Papillons is to produce, loving, affectionate puppies. I am happiest when I get yet another message from a happy new owner that tells me how wonderfully loving and affectionate their papillon puppy is..,.
Q. & A. with Mary
Why did you start breeding?
When I retired, I went to a pound knowing that I did not want a pitbull or a Chihuahua..:only Pitbulls and Chihuahuas but there was one sweet, looking dog ..he was listed as Papillion mix.. he is now 17 years old …fell in love with Papillion breed. I found breeder close to me for my first pure Papillion and she took me under her wing and taught me everything about breeding quality Papillons.
What makes your program special?
Absolute home environment… all my dogs run free and they do not go into crates unless puppies are chasing them. I call them my Papillion rug because they cuddle up together to sleep and you can’t tell where one starts and one ends. My vet says my puppies are the best behaved puppies in their clinic… she thinks it is because puppies and adults spend all their time together rather than crated.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red white and sable, white black and tan, and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Mary raises the sweetest Papillons. We adore Buddy Boy...he is a very quick learner and my gosh, just the sweetest cuddler ever.
Mary is amazing...she has been so helpful with what to get and what he needs. The sweetest lady I have met in a very long time. She is so helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her Paps...they are special little dogs. You won't regret it. And you get to meet all her babies. So much fun. Thank you so much Mary...we may just be back for another little one.

I went with Shenanigans Papillons because of the great reviews, confirmation of certification, registration etc. and because the puppies and parents are so cute!
Mary was so informative, provided a LOT of pictures and videos of Zeus's development and continues to communicate after Zeus was delivered to me. Great experience!!

Shenanigans Papillons is by far the sweetest, most loving, and caring person I have had the pleasure of meeting! Mary helped me pick the sweetest boys I could ask for! She even helped me figure out a way to get them from her home all the way to Southern Illinois to me since I couldn't travel to immediately go get the boys! She kept me updated every chance she got, sent pictures, and videos of her little crew, gave me all the information I asked about and more!! When the boys got picked up, she made sure to send some things from home to comfort them for the journey and with their transition into our home! These boys fit right into my crazy crew and I couldn't have asked for a better breeder that makes sure her babies grow up with the sweetest, most loving personalities! I am forever grateful to have found her and to have her in my life! She takes the best care of her pups and their babies! I will always recommend her to anyone I know looking for the cutest papillon babies!!

Mary is amazing! It was about a 5 week process for us since we had to find a transport company. We live in Virginia which is quite a ways from Arizona. Mary sent texts, and pictures of our boys daily. She is a wealth of knowledge on how to take care of the super special dogs she breeds and rears. They are the sweetest most loving companions you could ever want. Mary knows her pups and is excellent at matching their personality’s with new pup parents. Our whole family will always be grateful. We love Mary and the Shenanigans Family!

Shenanigans Papillons has been very responsive, and we communicate daily even now about the new puppy. One of the things I liked was that Mary, In the two weeks before we picked her up, got a sense of what I wanted in the puppy and tried to socialize her towards that, called her by the name we chose and also gave me advice on what I should have in the home to keep the puppy safe and happy.
I enjoyed going to Shenanigans Papillons location and being able to see my puppy's parents and the environment in which they were raised. For the trip home, Shenanigans Papillons gave me a care package full of little treats, some puppy toys and a baby blanket to ensure our pup stayed warm for the journey home.
At home, the puppy's personality is fearless! Circlet was the hit of our Thanksgiving gathering - she was a little ball of fire. She enjoyed meeting everyone and playing with her toys and zooming around and dragging her giraffe here and there and barking at jingle and in general charming all of our guests. She was really a hit. She couldn't have been better.

I drove to Shenanigans to pick up my puppy, Hedy Lamarr, and to see the conditions under which she was raised. It's a mad house! Beautiful, high-spirited puppies and dogs playing together in the house. My Hedy knows no fear, loves the world, and, is the prettiest puppy I've ever seen. She immediately got along with my nine rescues because she's been so well socialized. I'm so happy with how healthy and joyful she is.
