I'm Gin M., the breeder behind Shinra Cardigans located in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and we want our program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs. We are dedicated to structural soundness, health, confidence, conformation, drive, and instinct.

Why did you start breeding?
I got my first cardigan in 2012, who I finished to an AKC CH, my first one. He has since been retired but is still an amazing dog! I have helped raise and whelp many cwc. I want to bring you the healthiest, most sound puppies as I possibly can! I found that my true joy was bringing my love of pedigree analysis and genetics, and my lifelong love for dogs together. It was smooth sailing from there!What makes your program special?
We have extremely beautiful Cardigans that adhere to the breed standard and also have that wonderful, unique Cardigan temperament. In addition, they excel in the show ring and excel as beloved family companions. My dogs all undergo DNA and health testing prior to breeding to ensure we are producing healthy and happy puppies. I would be honored to introduce you to your next Cardigan Welsh Corgi.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

About Elsa
Elsa is a female Cardigan Welsh Corgi almost 7 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Gin decided to make her part of their program. Gin has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Spine (OFA, FCI)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Coat/Trait Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
