Meet the breeder

I'm Lauren D., the breeder behind Soggy Bottom Retrievers located in Huntington, TX. We strive to produce a well-round gentleman’s gun dog. A dog that can be a superb family companion with the go and drive to be a good hunting dog or hunt test prospect.

Q. & A. with Lauren

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started out hunting 5 years ago with my boyfriend at the time (now my husband). I took up duck hunting and had to have a dog. I self-trained my first dog and our kennel took off from the here. We have flourished from there and have puppies all over the US.
  • What makes your program special?

The one on one time we spend with our puppy buyers day after day. We send weekly professionally edited photos, videos, and updates. We go above and beyond for our buyers to make them happy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
