I'm Sarah W., the breeder behind Stellar Cattle Dogs located in Verona, MO. Australian Cattle Dogs are a versatile breed, but our main focus at Stellar Cattle Dogs is their herding ability. We health test our dams and sires to try and provide the healthiest working dogs that we can. Our dogs are our family and we raise our puppies with the same love and care. Families that we sell our puppies to become family to us. I am here to offer any and all support that I can, for the life of that dog.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4 (rcd4), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
