I'm Linda M., the breeder behind Straight Creek Retrievers located in Whiting, KS. Our breeding dogs are all health tested and we only breed them if they have good results and are clear on important genetic tests. They are primarily our pets, they live in the house with us. When we are away at work we have a heated outside shelter and roomy pen for them so they will be safe, happy and content. We live on our family farm and we enjoy keeping our dogs fit and active.
Q. & A. with Linda
Why did you start breeding?
I got my first Golden the year before my youngest daughter graduated so I wouldn't have an empty nest. After that I was hooked on Goldens and our first litter was born in 2013.
What makes your program special?
We only have one litter a year so we enjoy our puppies to the fullest. They get plenty of love and attention. They are raised on our home for the full 8 weeks but get to spend some time outside in their own area when weather and schedule allow. Our grandchildren love to visit and play with the puppies. They are very well socialized. We try to make getting a puppy from Straight Creek Retrievers a good experience. Multiple pictures are posted on our web site of each puppy beginning at about 4 weeks of age so you can watch your puppy grow on our site. I am available for questions every evening and weekend.
The puppies are litter trained and we being getting them accustomed to being in a crate. They have their first puppy vaccinations and are microchipped when they leave with their new families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
