I'm Orissa M., the breeder behind Sunkissed Retrievers located in Meriden, KS. We offer a two year health guarantee and are willing to take a puppy back if it ends up not being the right choice for your household. We will gladly re-home the puppy for you. We never want one of our puppies in shelters and will take the time to make sure our puppies are always in prime care.

Why did you start breeding?
I let my kids breed their dogs for a "fun" experience. I thought it would be good for them to have the experience and the responsibility of a litter of puppies. Over the years we have learned it is a lot of work and so much more than a "just for fun" thing for your kids. There is so much research, education, and health testing that goes into each litter and we still have fun!What makes your program special?
We hand raise our puppies from the time they are born. They are raised in the home and handled by people of all ages. We spend a lot of time socializing them and getting them ready for an easy transition into their new home. Our dogs are not in kennels and are our family pets. We spend a lot of time with the puppies to ensure just the right puppy goes home with just the right family.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Orissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About JoJo
Meet JoJo, this sweet momma has been a joy to work with from the moment we brought her home. JoJo is a Koda/Elsa granddaughter so i jumped at the chance to keep her in our program. She was the calmest little snuggle bug as a puppy and grew into real drive to please! She is one of the easiest dogs to train because of her confidence and she is smart smart smart! She has earned her canine good citizen (CGC ) through the AKC along with her novice trick title, urban CGC, and utility CGC! We are proud of her accomplishments and has proven to produce some very trainable puppies with excellent dispositions. JoJo is 3/4 English cream and very light in color. I have gotten some amazing feedback on pairing Beau and JoJo together which is why I was excited to do this pairing again!!

About Presley
Presley’s disposition is calm and easily trainable. She is on the shy side but with training we have worked on her confidence and she loves to run and play! She is our fastest dog! She is a snuggle buggy who prefers to be a lapdog and but loves to please so will do what she is asked of her. She is gentle and soft with the kids and just an all around easy lover.

About Emmie
Emmie has passed her CGC (canine good citizen) through the AKC and is also a certified therapy dog. We enjoy volunteering at the library where she lays for hours and lets children practice reading out loud to her. She has participated in several other volunteer opportunities but that is her favorite. Emmie is a full English Cream and has her disposition is priceless. She passes her sweet spirit on to her puppies time and time again.

Koda is a male Golden Retriever. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Orissa decided to make him part of their program. Orissa has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Sunkissed Retrievers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Golden Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Profile, OFA/CHIC DNA Repository
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Very grateful to have found Orissa on Good Dog. We picked up Huckleberry almost 3 weeks ago and he is an amazing addition to our family. We had a great experience getting our puppy from Orissa! We got to meet all of the litter and our kids got to meet and greet all of the puppies. We got second pick and my son got to pick the dog he wanted. We also kept her name since we liked it so much.
