I'm Barbara B., the breeder behind The Bakery located in Sacramento, CA. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we love to raise puppies and prepare them for their forever homes.

Why did you start breeding?
What makes your program special?
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Where do your breeding dogs live?

Barbara has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Barbara partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“My selection process for potential puppy buyers is structured, intentional, and centered on long-term fit rather than on first-come, first-served availability. I evaluate each applicant holistically—starting with their living environment, household composition, and prior dog experience—then weigh their understanding of the Boxer or Frenchie breed’s temperament, exercise needs, and health considerations. I prioritize homes that demonstrate stability, commitment to training and socialization, and a clear plan for integrating the puppy into daily life. Beyond the application, I use direct conversations to assess alignment in expectations, communication style, and overall philosophy around dog ownership. Ultimately, placements are made based on the best match between each puppy’s temperament and the home’s lifestyle, ensuring both the dog and the family are set up for a successful, lifelong relationship.”

About Penny
Penny came from a legacy — but she became her own story. She carries the Cinnabon bloodline, built by Bonnie Wagman and anchored by Wilma, the most titled Boxer in breed history. That's the foundation. What Penny does with it is entirely her own. She is, in the best possible way, a lot. Playful, expressive, convinced that whatever you're doing would be better with her involved. She has the classic Boxer spirit — all heart, zero pretense — and a gentleness around children that isn't trained, it's just her. The kind of dog that a kid instinctively trusts. Like most Boxers, she doesn't do well with being an afterthought. She wants to be in the room, in the moment, part of the life. Give her that and she gives you everything. She recently delivered her first litter — an emergency C-section that tested everything she had. She came through it the way she does most things: steadily, and without a lot of fuss. That's Penny. Pedigree on paper. Character in person.
