Meet the breeder

I'm Laura C., the breeder behind The Bearded Companions located in Waddell, AZ. Our dogs are part of our daily lives, raised in a loving home where they receive constant care, attention, and early socialization. We take pride in ourselves knowing that each puppy, when they go to their new home, will be the best companion they can be.

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got into dog breeding because of our love for the breeds and our desire to raise healthy, well-socialized companions. What began as a personal passion quickly grew into a commitment to responsible breeding, proper health testing, and helping families find a happy, well-adjusted companion.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is built on quality, transparency, and genuine care for every dog we raise. We focus on health-testing, well-tempered parents, ensuring each litter starts with strong genetics and sound structure. Our puppies are raised in a loving, hands-on environment where they're socialized early with sounds, sights and routines. They're also socialized with our children as well.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include red and dapple. Miniature Schnauzer puppies include wheaten, parti, black, and salt and pepper. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We carefully consider temperament, energy level, children in home, and lifestyle to make sure it's the right fit for everyone. Because a furever home should feel right for both sides."

It was a pleasure to work with Laura to get our sweet girl, Bindi. She was always available to help and made the process really easy when it came to pick her up as we live out of state. Her love for her puppies is palpable and shows just how much she cares for them, as well as her husband.
