A friendly reminder for anyone searching for a well-bred puppy: Ethically bred, health-tested puppies are never “cheap,” and there’s a reason for that. Before a litter is ever planned, responsible breeders invest thousands of dollars into health testing, veterinary care, quality nutrition, training, and proving their dogs. My dogs are health tested and have earned performance and temperament titles because I believe breeding should be about producing healthy, stable, well-rounded companions—not just puppies. Once puppies arrive, they receive countless hours of hands-on care every single day. They aren’t simply fed and left alone. They are handled, socialized, exposed to new sights and sounds, kept in a clean environment, and given the best possible start in life. That level of care requires an enormous investment of time, money, and dedication. If you’re looking for the lowest-priced dog possible, a shelter or rescue may be a wonderful option and can be a great fit for many families. But if you’re looking for a purposefully bred puppy from health-tested parents that has been raised with intention and care, please understand that quality comes with a price. When you inquire about a puppy, remember that you’re not just paying for eight weeks of care—you’re investing in years of planning, health testing, experience, and responsible breeding practices that began long before the puppies were ever born.

Vom Broadvalley reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Boxers.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Factor VIII Deficiency, Boxer Type, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
