I'm Rachel S., the breeder behind Whidbey Corgis located in Coupeville, WA. Here at Whidbey Corgis, we strive for healthy, confident, loving and true to the standard puppies in our program. We are dedicated to providing families with loving pups. Pups that are healthy. Pups that will bring love and joy to their new families. Why did you start breeding?
I remember being 9 yrs old and meeting my first corgi. I fell in love instantly and always knew one day I would own the breed! Not only do I now own the breed, but my partner and I decided we wanted to start a breeding program so we could continue to help the breed strive.What makes your program special?
From the moment a pup is born, that pup is now apart of our family. We raise and handle pups as if they are our own. We introduce them to different sounds, textures, scents, environments. It is important to us that we set the pup up for success to be the best that it can be for its new family. Not only do they have a forever family, but you gain lifetime breeder support through us as well.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Dilly is probably one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met. He has such a gentle soul. Not a mean spirit in his body. He is a beautiful Merle with blue eyes.

Marshmallow is a female American Corgi. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Rachel decided to make her part of their program. Rachel has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Rachel was really easy to work with. Communication, delivery, and transactions were hassle free and couldn’t have gone smoother. She gave us a bag (which had a cute corgi picture on it) with toys, blanket, food, and paperwork. We absolutely love Kobe. You can tell she took care of the puppies because he didn’t want to leave her side when she dropped him off! But he has adjusted just fine.

I met Rachel through gooddog. She was very responsive, gave us useful information and answered all of our questions. Rachel sent us updated photos of our puppy, Strasza and gave us a binder of tips to help us with getting to know and train our new puppy. We are so in love with our Strasza and look forward to continuing our relationship with Rachel
