I'm Julie and Jim S., the breeder behind Wild Atlantic Aussies located in Sudbury, MA. Our puppies are trained on- and off- leash, sleep through the night, are crate trained, and mostly potty trained. They have had tons of socialization with people, including lots of children, and also with dogs of all sizes and ages. Any home will be enriched and lucky to have them.
Q. & A. with Julie and Jim
Why did you start breeding?
Jim grew up with collies, and his family bred their dog. He loved the experience, and wanted to share it with our children. We had our first litter last summer, and when the pups went to their forever homes in the fall, they were very well socialized and trained.
What makes your program special?
We have four children, and a busy household. Our puppies will receive a lot of attention, and will be desensitized to a lot. There will be no shortage of helping hands to care for and train the puppies in their early weeks. In addition, a lot of time and effort was put into making sure Galway was right for breeding, and finding the perfect mate for her.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Wild Atlantic Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
