Meet the breeder

I'm Marge S., the breeder behind Amber Run Kennels located in Jetersville, VA. We have top-quality hunting stock with dogs suitable for family or competition environments. We especially love to place our dogs into hunting homes. Each puppy is greatly loved by us. We ensure they are socialized, healthy, and prepared to excel in their forever homes. Our dogs are bred for those specifics and we take pride in our breeding program.

Q. & A. with Marge

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our interest in producing healthy, intelligent Labradors grew and we began breeding. Our goal has always been the same: to keep Labs retrieving on land and water, to nurture their desire to work with us, to work on improving health through the newest genetic tests, and to use that information to produce healthy puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

At Amber Run Kennels, we produce excellent companions. We understand the importance of dog health, temperament, and structure, and every breeding decision is made accordingly. Dogs from our kennels participate in field trials, hunt tests, agility trials, tracking, service work, obedience competitions, dock jumping, and one of our favorites - lap dogs! We would be honored to introduce you to one of our Labrador puppies!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
