I'm Jennifer C., the breeder behind Ausm Labradoodles located in Sanford, NC. Our vision is to develop a training organization for Labradoodle assistance dogs. Our mission is to produce a superior line of Labradoodles much like the founder of the breed, Wally Conran of Australia, with an extraordinary talent for assisting people with disabilities.
Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
Well, we decided to take matters into our own hands: Our first goal was to train our own service dog for Matt. Our vision is to develop a training organization for Labradoodle assistance dogs. Our mission is to produce a superior line of Labradoodles much like the founder of the breed, Wally Conran of Australia, with an extraordinary talent for assisting people with disabilities.
The beginning of our first dream came true when we brought seven-week-old Down Under’s Scooby Doodle Doo home to live with us in May, 2005. Since then, Scooby has exceeded our wildest expectations! He developed into a wonderful service dog, a true testament to his breed. The only problems Matt has in public now is getting around without 20 people stopping and asking about Scooby!
What makes your program special?
Our breeding practices stress that we select dogs that have the wonderful disposition and non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat for which the breed is known and prized. We are unique from many of the other Australian Labradoodle breeders in that one of our passions is to develop allergy friendly dogs who will make excellent candidates for service or therapy work (see Doodles on Duty page), which was the original purpose of the breed. We are committed to this legacy in our breeding practices, but also want to provide wonderful pets to any interested individual with or without allergies. Their wonderful personality and spirit, combined with their luxurious coats make this dog a joy to own!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
