Black Canyon Boxers

Rebecca S.

Breeder of Boxers

Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca S., the breeder behind Black Canyon Boxers located in Montrose, CO. My dogs live in the house and sleep in my bed with me. They are my family. I breed for health and temperament first. I start potty training at 3 weeks old using the Misty Method. Your puppies will be introduced to various stimuli to help insure confidence. They will be held and played with constantly. You may visit your chosen puppy after they are 4 weeks of age.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Boxer was a male named Gustus. He was one of those special dogs that you love dearly. When he was just over 2 years old he died next to me in bed during the night while we were sleeping. He had not been ill. That was my introduction to Boxer heart problems. I decided to educate myself and breed boxers that had been tested for heart disease. I’m trying to save people the same heart ache I went through and have Boxers that feel great and thrive.
  • What makes your program special?

I don’t have a large breeding facility so my dogs get to be part of the household and that is how the puppies are raised. I post videos every 2-3 days so my buyers will get to watch their puppy grow up. For 8 weeks they will be part of my household. We keep in touch after your puppy goes home so you can see pictures of your pups litter mates, if you choose to do so.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
