I'm Deborah K., the breeder behind Debandles Kennels located in Stafford, VA. We are small breeders, owners, and admirers of the amazing Labrador Retriever. I have owned Labradors all my life. Growing up, I marveled at their ability, not only as a valued family member, but also as a working dog. We breed healthy puppies and raise them with the foundation to excel at whatever adventures their new owners have in mind. We compete in AKC field, obedience, rally, dock diving, conformation, and other events. Our breeding dogs have all learned obedience and good house manners, as well as earned titles to assure that they will produce the best next generation of puppies to join you in your journeys and adventures.
Q. & A. with Deborah
Why did you start breeding?
After my children were raised, my husband and I decided to raise quality puppies. We contacted a well-known breeder in the area, and she served as a mentor, helping us set up our breeding program.
What makes your program special?
We raise one litter at a time, always within our home. We also spent countless hours with them.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Deborah was great with sharing information about the litter. I picked the puppy (her name is Maggie) from a video Debora sent me. Delivery of Maggie was made by Les Kidwell (Deborah’s husband). The delivery went seamlessly! Maggie is fitting in very well in her new home! When it’s time I will most certainly adopt another puppy from Debandles Kennels.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
