I'm Genelda M., the breeder behind Greenbrier located in Gatlinburg, TN. Greenbrier is a family owned and operated Kennel. We breed for biddable, resilient, outgoing pups with great trainability. Our breedings are carefully thought out so we are able to match pedigrees, body types, temperaments, and personalities in order to share only well-bred puppies.
Q. & A. with Genelda
Why did you start breeding?
My parents bred English Springer Spaniels when I was growing up and I always knew it was something I wanted to do when I grew up. My husband had his first Australian Cattle Dog before we got married and I fell in love with the breed. They are smart and loyal. In the last few years we have been building our Mudi breeding program.
What makes your program special?
We have a very small breeding program and we have careful selected dogs that go back to our original dogs from 17 years ago. We breed to the standard for type, structure and movement, and stable temperaments that are a joy to live with. We at Greenbrier take pride in building relationships with our puppy owners and are committed to helping you succeed with your pet.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Australian Cattle Dog puppies include blue speckled, blue mottled, red speckled, and red mottled. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Mudi
About Melon
GCH CH Mecseki Bundas Melodia “Melon”
Melon is a beautiful black Mudi with an exceptional combination of temperament, structure, and versatility. Fully health tested and cleared for breeding, she embodies the breed standard with her strong bone, balanced proportions, and confident presence in the ring.
A natural in the spotlight, Melon thrives in the show environment, earning her Grand Champion and Champion titles with style and ease. She is outgoing with strangers, making her a joy to present and a crowd favorite. With a medium drive, Melon is active and engaged when working but also has an excellent off switch, making her equally content to relax at home.
Melon’s structure is a standout — correct angles, solid topline, and plenty of substance — giving her both elegance and durability. She is the perfect blend of beauty, brains, and biddability, representing the best qualities of the Mudi breed.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Greenbrier reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Cattle Dogs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
