Meet the breeder

I'm Victoria C., the breeder behind Hunter Mill Retrievers, LLC located in Vienna, VA. We raise our Labrador pups w/ a commitment to health, sound temperament, & socialization. Every pup is health tested & participates in our enrichment program, designed to foster confidence, emotional balance, & adaptability. Our Labs are also suitable to become therapy dogs, or hunting companions.

Q. & A. with Victoria

  • Why did you start breeding?

I knew I would breed labs 27 years ago when we got our first Labrador Retriever "Piper". I feel in love with the breed and with training. Over the years I have stayed in touch with all the breeders from whom we got our pups and have mentors in the field as well as have taken courses on breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed with an eye toward health & temperament. All of our girls are OFA clear for hips, eyes,& genetics & only bred w/ an equally suitable stud. Pups are nurtured w/ daily enrichment to build resilience, confidence & emotional balance. We breed a few select litters & are very selective about the home to which they will go. We like to get to know you so we can match you w/ the best pup
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
