I'm Eric K., the breeder behind Koenigplatz Kennel located in Greensboro, NC. The dogs in Koenigplatz Kennel breeding program take part in several canine disciplines. These include conformance, obedience, Rally, Agility, and tracking. Koenigplatz Kennels prides itself in trying to breed great temperament also into our dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got into breeding for two reasons. The first reason is we had a special Rhodesian Ridgeback, Desmond. We want to continue his line to help improve the breed. We got into breeding Lhasa Apso because of my wife. We bought a Lhasa when we moved to NC. She fell in love with the breed. She also noticed the breed was in decline. Therefore, we became preservation breeders for Lhasa Apsos.

  • What makes your program special?

    Three things make are breeding program special: 1) We focus on the health of dogs and make sure all sires and dams have passed all required health tests by the National Breed club 2) The temperament of our dogs is important. Our dogs must get along with people and other dogs. Our dogs are Canine Good Citizens (CGC) and have been utilized as Therapy Dogs. 3) Award-winning dogs

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies include lt whtn blk nose and rd whtn blk nose. Lhasa Apso puppies include red, golden, black, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Eric

Eric has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Eric partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

"The first step is understanding the potential buyers needs. These needs include sex, pet or show, temperament, and color. Show puppies have priority over pets. The need assessment is determined by the application and follow-up phone call. We will post pictures and videos to keep potentially owner informed about the puppies. "

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"The price includes AKC registrations, vaccinations, microchip information and a Puppy Guide. You become a member of the Koenigplatz family. The initial non-refundable deposit reserves you a puppy in the current litter. The non-refundable deposit will be applied to the price of the puppy."

Eric may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
